A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5930 PERTAINING
TO THE COMPENSATION FOR MANAGEMENT AND UNCLASSIFIED
EMPLOYEES
SECTION 1A. The following salary ranges are hereby
created effective September 1, 1982:

SECTION 1B. Effective September 1, 1982, the following
salary ranges are hereby created:
# The Police Department mid -management salaries reflect only the
proposed equity adjustments. Further adjustments will be made
based on the Police Officers' Association for 1982/83 negotiated
salary adjustment.
* The Fire Department mid -management salaries reflect the proposed
equity adjustments effective September 1, 1982, plus the 5%
across-the-board adjustment negotiated for the Fire Association
effective July 1, 1982. Fire mid -management positions will
receive a 3% adjustment in January 1983 based on that same
agreement.

SECTION 2. RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTION. City agrees to
payment of employees' contribution to Marin County Retirement
System, up to a maximum of four percent (0) of an employee's
salary or 50% of the employee's retirement contribution rate,
whichever is less.
SECTION 3. INSURANCE PROGRAM. Effective September 1,
1982, employees in positions listed in Section lA will receive,
as an added fringe benefit, full coverage for the selected health
and disability plan and for life insurance in the amount of the
basic $5,000 plus up to twice the amount of the employees annual
salary.
Effective September 1, 1982, employees in positions
listed in Section 1B will receive, as an added fringe benefit,
full coverage for basic life insurance ($5,000) plus supplement
(up to the amount of the eligible employees annual salary), and
one hundred and seventy dollars ($170) per month contributed
towards the cost of each eligible employee's Health & Disability
Insurance package.
SECTION 4. DENTAL INSURANCE.
Effective July 1, 1982,
the City will provide and pay the premiums to have a dental
insurance program which provides 100% coverage for diagnostic and
preventive care, $25 deductible on corrective care (80/20) per
patient/calendar year and orthodontic coverage (50/50).
SECTION 5. SICK LEAVE. Upon termination of employment,
by resignation, retirement or death, employees employed at the
present time who leave the municipal service in good standing
shall receive compensation of all accumulated unused sick leave
based upon the rate of three percent (3%) for each year of
service, to a maximum of fifty percent (50%). In the event of
the death of an employee, full payment for unused sick leave
shall be paid to the employee's beneficiary.
After July 1, 1979, new employees are not entitled to
cash in unused accumulated sick leave upon separation from the
City.

SECTION 6. FLOATING HOLIDAY. Good Friday, Lincoln's
Birthday and Admission Day have been deleted as holidays granted
to the employees covered by this Resolution, and one (1) floating
holiday per year added, making a total of two (2) floating holidays
per year, to be taken by the covered employee subject to the
consent of his or her Department Head.
SECTION 7. EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE. The educational
incentive for Police Lieutenant, Police Captain and Battalion
Chief will be included in the base salary.
SECTION 8. MISCELLANEOUS. In addition to the 2 1/2%
incentive premium for excellence in performance is increased to
5%.
SECTION 9. ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATION. Each
calendar year employees covered by this Resolution shall be
entitled to an annual physical examination by a physician of
their choice, the cost to be borne by the City.
SECTION 10. ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. Said employees will
receive seven (7) administrative leave days annually beginning
each calendar year to be used as needed with the approval of the
Department Head and City Manager.

introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said
City on Tuesday , the 7th day of September , 1982, by the
