A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT, LEASE OR AGREEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of
the City of San Rafael, a contract, lease or agreement with
INTER ARTS OF MARIN FOR ART IN PUBLIC PLACES
a copy of which is hereby attached and by this reference made a part
hereof.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly intro-
duced and adopted at a REGULAR meeting of the City Council of said
City held on MONDAY the _

GENERAL LETTER OF INTENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AND INTER -ARTS
OF MARIN.
Re: Public Art Project
Inter -Arts has been funded to expedite and finance in part four
works of public art of which a sculpture to be played on at the entrance
of Albert Park, B Street, San Rafael has been selected as one of the
four projects.
THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
Selection process:
1. Inter -Arts advertises for artists to submit proposals for the sculp-
ture.
2. The City of San Rafael will select three community members versed in
the Arts, for the selection committee. Inter -Arts will provide two
advisors for the selection processes. The thred finalists chosen will
be forwarded to the San Rafael City Council for final selection.
Inter -Arts Board of Directors must endorse the final choice before
any commitment to the City of San Rafael. Endorsement will be con-
tingent on approval of design, location, budget, schedule and all
conditions relating to the project.
3. Inter -Arts will contract with the City of San Rafael and the artist
to produce the sculpture.
Funding for the project:
1. The maximum per project budget is $120000.00. Inter -Arts funds 75%
($9,000.00) of the total project budget. The remaining 25% ($3,000.00)
is to made up jointly by the City of San Rafael, local businesses, and
individuals in the form of in-kind contributions of cash, materials, or
services.
2. Execution of the sculpture will not commence until the entire 25% con-
tribution has been guaranteed in writing.
