RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING CITY OF SAN RAFAEL TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT
FEDERAL LIBRARY SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION ACT FUNDING FOR 1980-81
WHEREAS, The California State Library has available federal
Library Services and Construction Act funds for the extension and
improvement of public library services both to geographic areas
and to groups of people without adequate services; and
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Public Library is desirous of
making application to the State of California to extend and improve
services to the people of San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael
be authorized to apply for and accept federal funding for
1980-81 as provided by grant award(s) approved by the State
Librarian, and the Mayor of San Rafael is hereby authorized to
sign subsequent agreements for approved grant award(s).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT this approval does not entail
any further matching financial contribution, San Rafael having
already contributed its matching by expenditures heretofore made
for library purposes, nor does it commit the City of San Rafael
to continuance beyond the period covered by said grant funds un-

of the citizens of the community to do so. (Note: In the
latter instance it would require separate action and resolution
by specific jurisdictional body and this instrument could not be
so construed as to be binding.)
