A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL APPLYING TO THE MARIN
LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION FOR
AN ANNEXATION OF REAL PROPERTY KNOWN AS
B -BAR -A TRAILER RANCH, 742 FRANCISCO
BOULEVARD (A.P. NO. 18-011-06) PURSUANT
TO THE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION ACT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, commencing
with Section 35000 of the California Government Code, the City Council representing
the City of San Rafael may, by resolution adopted by this legislative body, initiate
proceedings involving annexation to said City; and
WHEREAS, the subject territory is located in the County of Marin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Application, which is hereby made to the Marin Local Agency
Formation Commission of the County of Marin, proposes the following:
A. This proposal is made pursuant to, and is in compliance with provisions
of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977.
B. Said application requests that proceedings be taken for annexation of
inhabited territory affecting the City of San Rafael.
C. The boundaries of the affected territory are illustrated on an attached
map, and are described in Exhibit A, an attached legal description.
D. This proposal is submitted for the following reasons:
1. This site is an island of 1.48 acres in size (100 feet wide by
approximately 650 feet long) .
2. The area is isolated from other County areas by freeway on one
side, railroad track on the other side, and industrial lands of
the City of San Rafael for a substantial distance to the north
and south.
3. County police and fire services are some distance removed from
this location while City services immediately and constantly
patrol the adjoining areas.
4. The City of San Rafael can more economically and efficiently
in the benefit of the entire public serve this area than can the
County services.
5. The City of San Rafael can provide a higher level of services
to this area.
E. Municipal services which shall be required include: Extension of
existing municipal services to the affected territory; i.e. , Fire, Police and Parks
and Recreation.

Section 3. This resolution is submitted and shall be accompanied by a
plan for services prepared by the City of San Rafael pursuant to Section 35102
of the California Government Codes .
Section 3. The Clerk of the City Council of the City of San Rafael is
hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with
the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County
of Marin.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday ,
the 6th day of February , 1978, by the following vote, to wit:

B -BAR -A Trailer Ranch Annexation to the City of San Rafael

That parcel of land situated in the County of Marin known as Assessor's Parcel
18-011-06, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at reference Point of Beginning, being that point on the Southwesterly
line of Highway 101 which is the common tangent point of the arcs concave to the
Southwest having radii of 2441.84 feet and 1171.92 feet, respectively, and defined
by the radial line from the centers thereof which bears North 42°54'34" East, said
point being on the Northeasterly line of the lands of Baxter; thence Southeasterly
along the aforesaid Southwesterly line of Highway 101 along the arc concave to the
Southwest, having a radius of 1171.92 feet, through a central angle of 2°31'14",
for a distance of 51.56 feet to the True Point of Beginning, said point being the
most Northerly point of the lands of Timmer, et al; thence from said True Point
of Beginning clockwise along said lands of Timmer the following courses:
Continuing Southeasterly along the Southwesterly line of Highway 101 along the
arc concave to the Southwest, having a radius of 1171.92 feet, through a central
angle of 4°53'30", for a distance of 100.06 feet; thence leaving said Southwesterly
line of Highway 101 South 36°37'18" West, 647.88 feet; thence North 40037'22" West,
100.58 feet; thence North 36°37'18" East, 645.20 feet to the True Point of
Br,ginning.
Containing approximately 1.46 acres.

tions, not to describe the contiguous portion(s) of a site,
the totality of the subject site is contiguous to the
existing boundary so that the only proper way to satis-
factorily describe this site is by metes and bounds.
