HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 5537RESOLUTION NO. 5537 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DESIGNATING AN HISTORIC LANDMARK DISTRICT TO INCLUDE PROPERTIES LOCATED AT 901, 903, 905, 907-09, 911 IRWIN STREET AND 610 - 3RD STREET. SAN RAFAEL. CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the Cultural Affairs Commission and the City Council have found, after conducting public hearings, that the properties stated herein have value as a part of the historical and cultural characteristics of the City which exemplify the heritage of the community in the era of history characterized by distinctive architectural style and type; and WHEREAS, a description of the characteristics of the sites within an historical district qualifies this designation and should be preserved; and WHEREAS, the location and the boundaries of the sites within the district are contained in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Rafael, California, that the sites hereinabove mentioned are described and designated as an historical landmark district and shall be maintained pursuant to provisions of Chapter 2.18 of the San Rafael Municipal Code; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution, or notice thereof, to be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder. I, JEANNE M.
