VOICE-ACTIVATED RELAY
Model VAR1
DESCRIPTION
The VAR1 Voice -Activated Relay is a DPDT relay device that is
activated when an audio signal is detected at the microphone pre -
amp or at 70V, 25V, or 600 -ohm line level inputs. It has a number
of useful applications, such as muting a sound system in response
to a microphone or telephone page, activation of accessory (secu-
rity) equipment, or activation of a zone paging module.
A slide switch is included to select the pre -amp or the line inputs.
TheVOX detect circuit also includes volume, sensitivity, and delay
controls. The audio output is an isolated 600 -ohm transformer.
The unit operates from a DC power source (not included).
INSTALLATION
Set input source switch on the top side of the unit to LINE if
using one of the line inputs or to MIC if using a microphone.
Connect a power supply to the 12 to 24V DC jack on the top of
the unit or to the + and - screw terminals. The Bogen model
PRS40C power supply is recommended.
WIRING
Refer to the block diagrams and the sample wiring diagrams on
the next page to wire theVAR1 for your application.
OPERATION
Sensitivity can be adjusted according to the needs of the applica-
tion. Clockwise rotation of the control increases sensitivity. Do
not over rotate the control or you may damage the trimpot.
The delay control is also adjustable in the field. The maximum
delay time is 25 seconds. Clockwise rotation of the control
increases delay time.

Application
The Standard Rack is a high-quality, cost-effective storage solution for patch
panels and network switches that use less floor space than a cabinet or a
four -post rack. The small 20.3"W x 15"D (516.1 mm x 381 mm) footprint makes
Standard Rack the best choice in many telecommunications and equipment
rooms, especially where floor space is limited.
Specifications
The Standard Rack meets project specifications, will hold 1,030 Ib (453.1 kg) of
equipment, has integrated grounding and is UL Listed as a communications circuit
accessory. Support 19" W EIA rack -mount equipment or shelves with the Standard
Rack, which is available in three heights. Equipment attaches to the front or rear
of the 3" D (80 mm) vertical mounting channels with screws. Mounting positions
are marked and numbered, making it easy to position and install equipment or
shelves.
Assembly
Racks deliver unassembled in a compact carton and are easy to assemble.
Components bolt together with included hardware; assembly takes approximately
10 minutes. Two -post racks must be secured to building structure. The Standard
Rack has pre -punched base angles, making it easy to attach the rack to the f oor
using a CPI installation kit for wood, slab or raised floors.
Cable Management
Because most Standard Rack applications require : able management. CPI's
vertical cable managers attach directly to the s'de of the Standard Rack. Vertical
cable managers organize cables. by U simplifying future moves, adds and changes
to the network. The best solution includes horizontal managers in-between patch
panels and network switches to fan patch cords into individual port connections.
Contact CPI Technical Support for configuration assistance.

Genenal Description
AT Series Industry Standard Auto Transformer. High-quality auto
transformer series provides the advantages of excellent frequency
response, low insertion loss and reliable performance for volume control
application in 25V/70.7V systems. Attenuation is accomplished in ten
make before break steps plus positive Off position. (No stop between
maximum and Off position to prevent switch damage). Contacts are
silver plated for noise -free operation. Features a removable terminal
block. Includes stainless steel plate, with stamped and filled or screen
printed dial scale and a skirted black knob. (White and ivory plastic piates
with matching skirted knobs also available in Decora style -see AT model
description chart).
E408 Auto Transformer with Precision Level Control. Specially designed
for attenuation in masking and sound reinforcement systems where fine
tuning of level control is required. Employs a ten -position, non -shorting
rotary switch without stop. Attenuation rate is 1.5dB per step. (All other
specifications are the same as the AT Series including the UL listing).
- _- PA Series Priority Paging Option. Priority paging feature by-passes
the effect of the attenuator to provide program level selection of
individual emergency and paging signals at the amplifier. Option is
available on all AT attenuators. The SPDT relay is operated with 24VDC
• e at 10mA. Includes protective relay cover to ensure lasting trouble-free
E performance. Terminations to the relay and attenuator are made via a
removable terminal block. (All other specifications except for dimensions
t are the same as selected AT models).

Banner's TL70 Tower Light is a 70 mm, modular LED indicator with extremely bright and uniform
light. The modularity gives the user flexibility to customize tower lights as needed and change
positions in the field. The TL70 is also available preassembled for easy installation.
• Light segments have user -selectable solid ON or flashing
• Up to six colors, or five colors plus audible, in one device
• Rugged, water-resistant IP65 housing with UV -stabilized material
• Bright, uniform indicator segments appear gray when off to eliminate false indication
from ambient light
• Several connection options to choose from including M12/Euro style quick disconnect,
cabled, and terminal -wired
