RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS'OVER FIVE YEARS'OLD.
WHEREAS, City now has voluminous records going back for a
number of years; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code, Section 34090, any records
over five years of age may be destroyed; and
WHEREAS, City now desires to destroy those records which are
over five _years of age which are no longer necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that upon supplying a list, con-
sultation with and approval of the City Attorney, any department
head may destroy those records, five years or older, not necessary
to the continuation of the regular business of City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution in no way author-
izes the destruction of:
(a) Records affecting the title to real property or
liens thereon.
(b) Court records.
(c) Records required to be kept by statute.
(d) Records less than five years old.
(e) The minutes, ordinances, or resolutions of the
legislative body or of a city board or commission.
I, MARION A. GRADY, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly intro-
duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City
held on the 19th day of March . 1973, by the following vote, to -wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
