ITEM
RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Approval of Minutes of Regular Meeting of Approved as submitted.
August 21, 1995 (AS)
The following item was removed from the Consent Calendar for discussion:
2. APPROVAL OF CANAL COMMUNITY ALLIANCE'S REQUEST FOR AGENCY PAYMENT OF POLICE SERVICES
FOR SECOND ANNUAL CANAL COMMUNITY FESTIVAL (ED) - File R-103 x R-140 #8
In addition to payment for security, Member Zappetini asked who was paying for staff
participation (in manning the Crime Prevention booth). Executive Director Nicolai
responded the Police Department would be paying for the officers' participation, as
it is a normal function of the Police Department to participate in these types of
activities. She noted that this was not a special budget item for the Police
Department. Chief Krolak estimated the Police Department's participation to be two
officers, each working four hours, at a cost of approximately $200.00. He agreed
this was something the City would normally provide as a community service.
