Background
•Municipal code amended Fall 2017 so City can tow after 24
hours (instead of 72 hours)
•Custom time-limited parking signs created
•Staff worked with community on sign placement and time
limits for each block
•Ts and Ls added in locations identified by Parking
Enforcement Officers
•Warnings issued in October 2018
•Citations issued beginning in November 2018

Next Steps
•Targeted enforcement, with emphasis on nighttime and key
street segments more impacted than others
•Kerner Boulevard has excess capacity. Encourage people
through: improved lighting and sidewalks, time limit changes,
notifications
•Pursue active transportation measures (enhance bike and ped
facilities, work with Marin Transit)
•Add parking capacity. Schoen Park will add 20 spaces
(pending permits)
