1. Minutes, March 19, 2019
Jeff Kent moved and Sarah Rege seconded to approve Minutes as presented. The vote is as follows:

NEW BUSINESS
2. 50 Los Ranchitos (Anthem Church) – Request for Environmental and Design Review
Permit to allow the addition of 2,573 sf of space to the existing church. The proposed re-
model would include expansion to the existing ground level sanctuary and narthex, an
upper floor addition on the west side of the building to add administrative office space,
and a new stairway to the lower level. Additional changes include upgrades to the ADA
parking and path of travel, improved landscaping and a new trash enclosure. No
expansion or change to the existing pre-school space is proposed; APN: 179-222-39; High
Density Residential Zoning District (HR1.8); Anthem Church, owner; Fredric Divine,
applicant; File No.: ED18-079. Project Planner: Caron Parker
Staff Report
Jeff Kent moved and Larry Paul seconded to approve Motion to recommend approval of the project with
the following consensus items:
The colors and materials of the new trash enclosure should be high quality stucco to match those of the
existing church;
Reduce off-site glare by installing new downlighting fixtures rather than relocate/reuse existing ‘wall pack’
light fixtures;
To mitigate the loss of the two existing cedar trees along the south elevation, the project shall install five
(5) new trees (min. 15-gallon container size) along the Los Ranchitos Rd. frontage; and
The applicant is encouraged to meet with the Department of Public Works to review potential conflicts
between the proposed new ADA striping conflicts and access to the new trash enclosure.
