Design and Structure
•Maximum 2 spaces per business
•Must maintain at least 70% of parking in
specified area or be near garage parking
•Safety, aesthetics, and cleanliness are
priorities
•Wood or metal materials only
•Overhead structures and electrical permitted
only with an approved building permit
•ADA compliance mandatory
•Traffic safety with wheel stops, white traffic
delineators, and visible sightlines
•Modular streetaries also an option

•Streetaries must be clean, in good condition,
and secured when not use
•Must be available for use during business
hours
•Fire code compliance required
•Hours of operation: 7am to 10pm Fri, Sat,
holidays; 6am to 9pm Sun –Thurs

Application Fees
•Application fee: $2000 for a standard
streetary (no overhead structure or electrical)
•Application fee waived for December 1, 2022
to December 31, 2023
•No landlord approval required (however,
landlord can take over for up to 6 months to fill
vacant space)
•Building permit required: For structures
above 6 feet, electrical connections, and wired
lighting

Annual Fees
•Annual fee: $3600 per parking space,
$7200 for two (prorated for mid-year
applications)
•Staff proposes a fifty percent discount in
year 1 (12/1/2022 –12/31/2023) twenty
five percent discount in year 2 (1/1/2024 –
12/31/2024)

Required Deposit
•“Security” deposit: $2000 for each
applicant
•Refundable if applicant remains in
compliance with all guidelines
•If non-compliant, City will use funds to
maintain or remove streetary
•Calculated based on cost of removal

Transition Process
•All existing streetaries will be required to
obtain a permit
•Structures over 6 feet, electrical connections,
wired lighting, will also require a building
permit
•Existing streetaries need to Comply with
guidelines on or before December 1, 2022
