HomeMy WebLinkAboutFD Triannual Fire Code Ordinance Amendments PPTTriennial adoption of the 2022 CA Fire Code w/Appendix A of 2021 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code City Council Public Hearing Presentation November 07, 2022 2022 CA Fire Code •CA Fire Code –an amended version of the International Fire Code (IFC) •IFC amended to address CA specific hazards, threats & conditions unique to our region •Known as a “minimum code” – becomes law Jan. 1, 2023 •Local agencies have authority to adopt with amendments based on local, geographic & climatic conditions Adoption Process and Changes Process •Adopted by each city, town and County •Collaborative effort by the Marin County Fire Chief’s Association •Meeting and review process over a several month period •Review of all new & relevant code changes •Determine if any new local amendments are needed •Goal: For all Marin agencies to adopt similar local ordinance language for the 2022 CA Fire Code Outcome •Rolling forward existing amendments •Updates in this cycle reflect: •Additions and changes made to the minimum code •Section numbering changes •Amendments reflective of other Marin Agencies Adopt Ordinance 2020 amending Title 4.08 of the Municipal Code of the City of San Rafael, by adopting the 2022 California Fire Code with amendments,the 2021 International Fire Code, Appendix A of the 2021 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code.
