•Original Tax 1979
•The original Ordinance established the authority of City Council
to set the tax rates based upon a budget recommendation by
the City Manager.
•The tax was also approved by 3 separate jurisdictions
–County Service Area 13 (CSA 13), Upper Lucas Valley
–County Service Area 19 (CSA 19), Los Ranchitos and Santa Venetia
–Marinwood Community Service District (Marinwood)
HISTORY
PARAMEDIC PROGRAM OVERVIEW
•The Paramedic Program consisting of 24/7 Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) that includes a paramedic on every Fire Engine
at all six Fire Stations
•Ambulances at Stations 52, 55, 56, and 57
•Response time on average is under seven minutes.
•The Department responds to over 8,700 calls for medical
service each year

•18 Full Time Equivalent Firefighter-Paramedics
•Capital projects, Vehicles, Equipment & Supplies
•24/7 Emergency response service that includes a
paramedic on every Fire Engine
The paramedic tax makes up 60% of the Paramedic Program
Fund Budget, the remaining 40% of revenue comes from 3rd
party medical billings and state/federal cost recovery programs
The $8.9 Million in Revenue Supports
