Roll Call Present: Trustee Andow Trustee Cortes Chair Lentini Trustee Vahdat Absent: Trustee Duque Hughes Also Present: Jinder Banwait, Administrative Analyst Basia Jędruszczak, Interim Supervising Librarian Jill Tokutomi, Assistant Library & Recreation Director/City Librarian Catherine Quffa, Library & Recreation Director MINUTES 1. Approve Regular Meeting Minutes of January 10, 2023 and February 14, 2023 Trustees provided comments. The minutes of January 10, 2023 and February 14, 2023 were approved as submitted. Trustee Andow moved, and Trustee Vahdat seconded to approve the minutes of the January 10, 2023 and February 14, 2023 meetings. Ayes: Trustees: Andow, Cortes, and Lentini 2 Noes: Trustees: None Absent: Trustees: Duque Hughes Abstain: Trustees: Vahdat Minutes approved as submitted. Chair Lentini invited public comment; however, there was none. OPEN TIME FOR PUBLIC EXPRESSION Public Comment from the audience regarding items not listed on the agenda. None SPEICAL PRESENTATIONS 2. Introductions/Awards/Recognitions/Presentations Special Presentation by Basia Jędruszczak, Interim Supervising Librarian – Cohesive Display Plan Staff responded to questions from the Trustees. Trustees provided comments. Chair Lentini invited public comment; however, there was none. OTHER AGENDA ITEMS 3. Review of Increased Demand for OverDrive Digital Content Presentation by Jill Tokutomi, Assistant Library & Recreation Director/City Librarian Staff responded to questions from the Trustees. Trustees provided comments. Chair Lentini invited public comment; however, there was none. 4. Rescheduling the May 9, 2023 Board Meeting Presentation by Jill Tokutomi, Assistant Library & Recreation Director/City Librarian and Catherine Quffa, Library & Recreation Director Staff responded to questions from the Trustees. Trustees provided comments. The May 9, 2023 meeting was moved (due to lack of quorum) to May 16, 2023. Trustee Vahdat moved, and Trustee Cortes seconded to move the May 9, 2023 meeting to Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Chair Lentini invited public comment; however, there was none. STAFF LIAISON REPORT 5. Other brief program updates or reports on any meetings, conferences, and/or seminars attended by staff. Presentation by Jill Tokutomi, Assistant Library & Recreation Director/City Librarian and Catherine Quffa, Library & Recreation Director Staff responded to questions from the Trustees. Trustees provided comments. Chair Lentini invited public comment; however, there was none. COMMISSIONER REPORTS 6. Other brief reports on any meetings, conferences, and/or seminars attended by the Board members. Chair Lentini shared that the San Rafael Public Library Foundation funded an effort to produce a promotional/informational film for community awareness as to why San Rafael needs a new library facility. The video will be shared with the Board of Library Trustees as soon as it becomes available. NEXT MEETING: May 16, 2023 ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 6:57 P.M.
