With your funding and leveraging our other grants, in 2023, we spent 188 additional
one‐on‐one business advising hours compared to 2022. Thank you!
We upgraded our processes to better track low‐income data. Last year, 30% of the
clients did not report low‐income data and this year only 15%. According to the
Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), 57% of our San Rafael
clients were considered low‐income. This means we are serving a large underserved
population.
This is the first year in 10 years we did not see many businesses acquire funding which
is the reason for the low capital infusion milestone number. Although 42% of the San
Rafael clients needed support with funding, the amounts the business owners took
out were much smaller or people found ways to get by without funding.
In 2023, compared to 2022, we saw a 71% increase in attendance for our workshops.
Highlights From The Data

Thank you for recognizing the importance of small businesses in
our local economy. Your funding contribution makes a difference
in the lives of these business owners as well as their families.
With increased funding, we can do more in the Spanish speaking
community and with specific industries that are needing
support. We are here to work with you and the community to
determine the best needs for the San Rafael businesses.
We look forward to continuing to serve San Rafael and helping
businesses thrive. Much Appreciation!
Grateful for Your Support!
