AiO RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, CALIFORNIA, SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL SHALL DEVELOP, CONSTRUCT, ACQUIRE AND OPERATE WITHIN SAID CITY A LOW RENT HOUSING PROJECT. WHEREAS, Article XXXIV of the Constitution of the State of California provides that no low rent housing project shall be developed, constructed or acquired in any manner by any state public body until a majority of the qualified electors of the City in which it is proposed to develop, construct, or acquire the same, voting upon such issue, approve such project by voting in favor thereof at any general election; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED as follows: Section 1. The Council of the City of San Rafael, California, does hereby submit to the qualified electors of said City at the General Municipal Election to be held on April 12, 1965, the question of whether a low rent housing project or projects be developed, constructed, acquired and operated as set forth in the following measure, to wit: SAN RAFAEL LOW RENT HOUSING MEASURE MEASURE: . The City Clerk of the City of San Rafael is hereby ordered and directed, to publish Notice of said Measure in the INDEPENDENT -JOURNAL, a newspaper of general circulation, pursuant to Section 22,835 of the California Elections Code.
