HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 3248M RESOLUTION NO. 3248 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DECLARING CANVAS OF RETURNS AND RESULTS OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 12, 1965 WHEREAS, in pursuance of law and the charter of the City of San Rafael, the Council of the.City of San Rafael duly called and ordered held in said City and in San Rafael School District and in San Rafael High School District on Monday, the 12th day of April, 1965, a general municipal election to elect municipal officers and members of the Board of Education, at which election the names of the persons voted for, the measures voted upon and for what office each person was voted for, all as set forth in the certified list of the San Rafael City Clerk dated March 23rd, 1965, was as follows: FOR MAYOR: (One to be elected for a full term of 2 years) CHARLES W. That the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael be, and is hereby, instructed to enter this resolution on the minutes of the Council as a statement of the results of said election. 2. That the whole number of votes cast at said election was /01 S&13 votes. That ballots were spoiled and not counted. That all absentee voters' ballots have been duly received and canvassed in time, form and manner as required by law. 8. That more than a majority of all of the votes cast at said General Municipal Election on each of said measures designated "Measure tA) City of San Rafael Charter Amendment Proposal" and "Measure (C) San Rafael Low Rent Housing Project Proposal" were in favor of said measures, and each thereof, and that said measures "A" and "C" were ratified and approved. 9. That more than a majority of all of the votes cast at said General Municipal Election on said measure designated "Measure (B) City of San Rafael Charter Amendment Proposal" were against said measure, and therefore, the said measure "B" was defeated. 10. That less than two thirds of the votes cast by the electors of the San Rafael School District at said election voted in favor of Proposition (1) designated "Special School District Bond Proposal", and by reason thereof, said Proposition (1) was defeated. 11. That more than a majority of all of the votes cast by the electors of ' the San Rafael School District at said election voted against Proposition (2) designated "Special School Tax Rate Proposal" and by reason thereof said Proposition (2) was defeated.
