Sidewalk in front of or around 1323 4th Street, San Rafael.
Circumstances giving rise to this claim
While walking to breakfast at Boogies Too, my foot caught the ungrated metal protuberance surrounding the tree ( see
attached photo). I fell forward on my arms, which caused both wrists to snap back. I sustained a right wrist fracture, left
elbow fracture, sprained left wrist, and right knee bruise/contusions.

the time of the presentation of the claim
The city is at fault for failing to provide a safe sidewalk for pedestrians. Specifically, the area around the tree was not
grated or flush with the sidewalk creating a dangerous condition for pedestrians, At a minimum, yellow warning tape or
a foot barrier around the tree would be required to alert people of the tripping hazard
