RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
PUBLIC HEARING ON AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION
NO. 1696 ENTITLED "PERSONNEL SYSTEM RULES
AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL"
AND FIXING THE POSTING OF SUCH AMENDMENT
AND NOTICE THEREOF.
GOOD CAUSE APPEARING THEREFOR IT IS RESOLVED that
a public hearing shall be held on a proposed amendment and
revision of the "Personnel System Rules and Regulations of the
City of San Rafael" which have heretofore been adopted by the
City of San Rafael Resolution No. 1696 and that said public
hearing shall be held in the City Council Chambers in the City
Hall located at 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, California, at
8:00 o'clock p.m. on the 6th day of September, 1966; and it is
RESOLVED FURTHER that a copy of said amendment and
revision, a copy of which is attached hereto, together with a
notice of said public hearing be posted in the lobby of the City
Hall at 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, California, and the Office of the
Clerk of the City of San Rafael in said City Hall for at least five
(5) consecutive days prior to said public hearing.

California, HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City held on the day of/

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1696
ENTITLED "PERSONNEL SYSTEM RULES AND
REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL"
BY AMENDING SECTION 8 OF RULE X THEREOF
CONCERNING HOLIDAYS.
WHEREAS, a recommendation for amendment and revision `
of Resolution No. 1696 entitled "Personnel System Rules and
Regulations of the City of San Rafael" having heretofore been
made by the City Council and said amendment having been
publicly posted at such places as the City Council prescribed
for at least five (5) consecutive days together with a notice
and date of hearings by the Council on said amendment; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said amendment having
been had at which all interested persons could appear and be
heard; and
GOOD CAUSE APPEARING THEREFOR;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
Section 8 of Rule X of Resolution No. 1696 of this -
Council is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 8. HOLIDAYS: Municipal offices
shall be closed on the following legal holidays:
New Year's Day; Lincoln's Birthday; Washington's
Birthday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Ad-
mission Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Armistice
Day; Thanksgiving; Christmas; and with the prior
consent of the City Council every day on which an
election is held throughout the State.
When a holiday falls on;a Sunday,
the following Monday shall be observed.
Time off shall be authorized
from noon until 3:00 p.m. on Good Friday for
those employees who request it.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the foregoing amendments shall
become effective immediately.
