RESOLUTION URGING THE CREATION OF
A COUNTY SERVICE AREAS
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has its own Police Department serving
its corporate limits with adequate police protection; and
WHEREAS, said City from its own tax rate supports the operation of
said Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the County of Marin has been offering knincorporated areas
of the County similar services at the expense of the entire
County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby requests the Board of Supervisors to create a
County Service Area or Areas to enable the charging of added
taxes in the areas benefited, and reduce the taxes in the in-
corporated cities which are supplying their own services.
I, W. CLIFFORD CORNWELL, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced
and adopted at a Regular meeting of the Council of said City
held on Monday the 5th day of
the following vote, to -wit:
