U RESOLUTION FIXING ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES WHEREAS, Section 12.20.030 of the San Rafael Municipal Code provides that any person desiring an electrical permit shall, at the time of filing an application therefor, pay a fee, which fee shall be as set forth by Resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set the fees referred to in said Section 12.20.030 NOW THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that any person desiring an electrical permit shall, at the time of filing an application therefor, pay a fee as required in this Resolution as follows: 1. For Issuing Permit $ 2.00 In addition: 2. For Services or Service Change: controlled or used, each .15 7. Fixtures, sockets or other lamp holding devises, except tube or fluorescent lighting, each .15 8. Fluorescent or tube fixtures: 1 Tube fixture, each .25 2 Tube fixture, each .30 3 Tube fixture, each .40 4 Tube fixture, each .50 9. Sockets or receptacles located less than eighteen inches apart,ea. .05 ORIGINAL (a) Services 600 volts, or less, first 100 amp. capacity 1,00 (b) Each additional 100 amp. capacity or fraction thereof 1.00 (c) Services over F,00 volts, first 200 KVA 10.00 (d) Services over 600 volts, over 200 KVA 25.00 3. For new residential construction: Fees shall be based on total square foot area of each building. Fee shall be $1.00 per 100 square feet or fraction thereof. This fee in addition to permit fee, service, electrical heating, wiring not attached to main building. 4. Temporary construction pole and attached wiring. 1.50 5. Circuits and sub -feeds, each .25 F. Outlets of not more than 2000 watts at which current is controlled or used, each .15 7. Fixtures, sockets or other lamp holding devises, except tube or fluorescent lighting, each .15 8. For each rated H.P. or fraction thereof up to and including 10 H.P. .50 For each rated H.P. or fraction thereof in excess of 10 H.P. .15 14. For each generator, transformer or welder the fee shall be as that for a motor considering each KVA capacity as 1 H.P. 15. Heat installations - per KW or KVA .25 16. X-ray unit and its appurtenances, each 2.00 17. Mercury arc -lamps, vapor lamp, steroptican lamp, spotlights,ea. .50 18. Motor generator sets, balancer sets, dyna motors and converters, including control apparatus, fee of 50% higher than for motors, with a maximum for one machine 20.00 19. Rectifiers: each KW or KV -A and fraction of either .25 20. Signs: (a) Electric self-contained signs, initially installed bearing underwriters' label of approval. 2.00 (b) I:elocation or alter,. -ion of any sign cr shop inspection 3.00 (c) Tube lightin for illumination, display or outline, 2.00 plus 50.25 each transformer.% (d) Incandescent lamps for illumination, display or outline lighting having sign receptacles mounted within a meta] raceway approved for the purpose 2.00 Plus $0.02 for each receptacle 21. For inspection of alterations and changes in existing wiring 3.00 22. For reinspections due to failure to make noted corrections, work not ready, access not available or similar reasons, each visit 5.00 23. For inspection of electrical equipment for which no fee is herein prescribed, or to determine if existing work is in compliance with applicable codes and ordinances, per hour 5.00 -2- 24. Outlets, fixtures or equipment in addition to those included in the original permit. A supplementary fee of 1.00 25. Where work for which a permit is required is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining said permit, the fees herein specified shall be doubled with a minimum charge of $10.00 I, W.
