RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
REQUESTING REMOVAL OF EXISTING RAILROAD TRACK ON THIRD STREET
The City Council of the City of San Rafael having been informed that the
existing railroad spur track which now crosses Third Street to serve the Camgros
Property is to be abandoned by the owner; and
WHEREAS, the removal of the existing railroad track on the south side of
Third Street has taken place; and
WHEREAS, the railroad spur line on the north side of Third Street,
serving the Camgros Property, is to be removed in the near future; and
WHEREAS, the track now existing in the right of way of Third Street is
not included by the State of California in the site clearance contract for the
Camgros Property; and
WHEREAS, if this track is not removed at this time by the owner of same,
the City of San Rafael must perform this work at some time in the future; and
WHEREAS, removal of these tracks should rightfully be done by the owner
of said tracks.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
That the City Council of the City of San Rafael does hereby request that
the owner of the existing spur track, between the north and south curb line of
Third Street, take steps to remove said track from the City street right of way
at this time.
I, W. CLIFFORD CORNWELL, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of the City of San Rafael held on the 5th day
of August , 1968, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN Baar, Barbier, Jensen and Miskimen
NOES: COUNCILMEN None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN Mayor Bettini 1
