RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FOR
L. H. "BUD" SAAR
WHEREAS, L. H. 'BUD" SAAR has faithfully and conscientiously served
the citizens of the City of San Rafael as Councilman and
Vice -Mayor in an exceptional manner since April I957; and
WHEREAS, said "BUD" 0AARl, has continually tolled to improve the
conditions under which all the citizenry of San Rafael live;
and
WHEREAS, by his diligent attention to the affairs of the City and
cooperative attitude with the Mayor and members of the Council,
a new City Hall complex became a reality Without the need to
obligate the City to a bonded indebtedness; the City's streets
were brought up to a standard long needed; traffic improvements,
Including new parking facilities, were implemented; while at
the same time the property taxes were continually reduced to
the lowest rate in the history of the City; and
WHEREAS, because of his devotion to San Rafael and the County of Marin
he decided to use his municipal expertise for the benefit of
the entire County and become a Supervisor;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that "BUD" BAAR be commended for his
years of excellent service and devotion to the City of San
Rafael; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council expresses sincere and
genuine appreciation for his unselfish sacrifice of valuable
time from both hls,personal and business life for the progress
of San Rafael.

certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly
Introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council
of said City; held on Noonday, the 6th of January, 1969, by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Barbier, Jensen, Misklmen and Mayor Bettinl
NOES; Pone
