WHEREAS, The Division of Highways has constructed a new "On -Ramp"
for southbound traffic on the '1101" Highway; and
WHEREAS, said "On -Ramp" involved the closing, of access to two City
Streets, which has created a decided hardship on an important segment of the
City's commercial enterprises by creating a new and indirect access to said
commercial enterprises; and
WHEREAS, this new access has caused a substantial financial loss to
the affected businesses as well as the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the new viaduct and southbound "On -Ramp"
structure will entirely eliminate the present access to Francisco Boulevard west;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael does hereby urgently request the Division of Highways to immediately
commence plans and specifications to make a direct connection between the area
of Second Street and Lincoln Avenue to the existing Francisco Boulevard west
at Rice Street, by means of an Amendment to the Supplemental Freeway Agreement
dated August 5, 1966.
I, W. CLIFFORD CORNWELL, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of said City held on Monday ,
the 3rd day of March , 1969, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Barbier, Jensen, Miskimen, Robbins, and Mayor Bettini
