RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
SUPPORTING HARIN COUN1-Y'S APPLICATION TO THE SAN FRANCISCO
BAY CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COINIMISSION TO CONSTRUCT
A PORTION OF SOUTH SAN PEDRO ROAD
WHEREAS, the County of Marin has applied to the San Francisco Bay
Conservation and Development Commission for permission to construct a
portion of South San Pedro Road; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has a joint powers agreement with
the County of Marin whereby the City pays one-half of the project costs;
and
WHEREAS, the improvement of South San Pedro Road is vitally important
to the City of San Rafael because it serves a large section of the City; and

WHEREAS, the proposed project will greatly improve a street condition
which is presently hazardous and unsightly; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project is planned and located in'e manner
which will require minimal filling of the Bay while substantially improving
and enhancing the entire area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Rafael hereby
urges the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission to
approve the County of Marin's application to construct this essentiai public
facility.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of San Rafael, State of California, held on the 5th day of Apria
1971, by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Barbier, Jansen, Miskimen, Mulryan and Mayor BettlIni
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
