RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
REQUESTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO PROCEED WITH
LANDSCAPING HIGHWAY "101" AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
WHEREAS, Freeway Agreements were executed between the City of
San Rafael and the State of California wherein the City agreed and consented
to certain modifications to the City Street System required because of the
improvement of that portion of State Highway Route 101, within the limits of
the City of San Rafael, as a Freeway; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways has undertaken Freeway improvement
work to a portion of State Highway Route 101 within the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, said Freeway improvement work has now been completed; and
WHEREAS, certain of said Freeway improvements are of a permanent nature
and will not be disturbed by future planned freeway construction; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has always cooperated with the State
in matters concerning the elimination of unsightly areas along the Freeway Route;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael does hereby request the Division of Highways of the State of California
to proceed, with preparation of plans and specifications for the landscaping of
Highway 101 and to award a contract for the completion of said landscaping as
soon as possible.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SAN
RAFAEL ENDORSING THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
AND HIGHWAY DISTRICT PLAN NUMBER 3-a.
WHEREAS, the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway Transportation District
has conducted a study of the Long Range Transit Alternates
in the County of Marin; and
WHEREAS, said Golden Gate Bridge and Highway Transportation District
has requested the City Council of the City of San Rafael to
express Its opinion as to the various alternates available
under said transportation plan; and
WHEREAS, at a duly held City Council meeting of the City of San Rafael
on the 3rd day of May, 1971, the City Council of the City of
San Rafael did consider said alternates, and pursuant, to a
motion duly made and carried the following resolution was
adopted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
San Rafael hereby recommends and adopts Alternate 3-a of
the Golden Gate Corridor Long Range Transportation Alternates
and hereby recommends to the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway
Transportation District that they adopt said alternate.

that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly Intro-
duced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City held on Monday, the 3rd day of May, 1971, by the
following vote, to -wit:
