RESOLUTION GRANTING VACATIONS
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that during each fiscal year, each employee
the City of San Rafael who has been in the service of said City for at
st one full year, shall be entitled to and shall have two weeks vacation
h pay, at his usual and regular pay rate or schedule.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the arrangement of vacations and the
ection of time for the same, shall be entirely in the control and subject
the discretion of the several department heads or chiefs and that no
�loyee shall be entitled to, or shall have any vacation under this
olution, unless and until he shall have applied to his department head or
of and shall have received the approval of the latter as to the time when
h vacation shall be taken. No person shall be entitled to receive a
ation at any special time, except upon the approval of such department
d, nor shall any person be entitled to have a vacation on successive weeks
ess with the approval of such department head.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that no vacation rights shall be
iulative, or shall carry over from one year into the next year, but in the
nt that for any reason a vacation is not received or enjoyed during any
cal year, it shall be deemed waived and no right shall carry over into
succeeding fiscal year, nor shall any person be entitled to extra
ipensation for proceeding in his or her employment without vacation.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall not apply to
elective officer of the City of San Rafael, but that elective officers shall
•e vacation with pay only upon application to and special permission from
.s City Council in each case, and no general rule for vacation on the part of
active officers is intended to be established hereby.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution is not intended
create and shall not create any vested right or any contract right on the
-t of any employee and that this resolution may be rescinded or repealed
any time without the creation of any liability or obligation on the part
the City.
