RESO UTION RE4r;UESTING LCD _-TION OF HICTHlVAY.
;.HERE�S there has been some controvers7 between residents and
other persons interested in the location of the proposed State
Highivay through the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works of the State of California
Division of Highways, desires a designation of a route by the City
Council of the City of San Rafael; and
VHEREi-S, said City Council is of the opinion that said Division
of Highways is best qualified to fix the exact location of said
highway but said City Council desires to recommend and fix certain
limits within which s4id Highway should be placed leaving the exact
location to the determination of said division of highways,

Yub1is ;Yorks, Division of Highways, of the State o? California,
to locate and construct the rr000sed State Highway through the City
of San Rafael anywhere east of the Northwestern Pacific R:�.ilroad
Company Right of 'vVay on what said Division of Highways consider
the most economical route from an engineering standpoint.
BE IT FURTHER RY.3OLVED that said. Department of Public Ilorks,
Division of Highways, be and it is hereby request -,d to make its
own examination and inspection by and through its qualified engineers
as to the best exact location of said highway within the limits
above specs'ifi,ed and in so doing to give consideration to the �vi_shes
of the property owners and various civic and educational orm:anizations
gpupps and persons ;rho may be inter<:sted in the ma�hter and �o fix
e loc '-J.on of said hirrhV1a7 within the limits above specified at
such exact location s Tei the opinion of the Division shall be
best suited to the u_blic convenience and necessity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Division of Highways be and
it is hereby requested to give this matter immediate consideration

San Rafael anywhere east of the North.iestern pacific ;.',.iilro&d Co 1pany
Right of 'Nay on what said Division of Highways consider the most econ-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Department of Public
Works, Division of Highways, be and it is hereby requested to make its

specified and in so doing to give consideration to the wishes of the
property owners and various civic and educational organizations, groups
and persons who may be in teres ted, in the matter, and to fix the location
of said highway within the limits above specified at such exact location
as in the opinion of the Division shall be best suited to the public
convenience and necessity.
BE IT FURTITER R SOLVED that said Division of highways
be and it is hereby requested to give thin matter immediate consideration
and attention, to allocate the i'ir.-t possible funds available for this
purpoee and to commence and prosecute construction-ttIthe earliest possibl
date.
