RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES.
1',7HEREA,S, it appears to the City Council of the City of San Rafael
that LOUIS SMITH and Ui TTIE SMITH, his wife, are the owners of an equity
in the following described real _property situate in the City of San Rafael,
County of Marin, State of California, to -wit:
PARCEL ONE: Beginning at a point in the Northerly line
of First Street distant 196.9 feet Weeterly from the point,of inter-
section of the Westerly line of Shaver Street with the Northerly
line of First Street; thence running Northerly 68° 30' Viest 40 feet
along the Northerly line of First Street; thence Northerly 200
East 120 feet along the Easterly line of Hayes Street; thence East-
erly 40 feet parallel with the Northerly line of First Street;
thence Southerly 120 feet parallel with the ECsterly line of Hayes
Street to the point of beginning.
PARCEL TWO: Beginning at a point on the Northerly line of
First Street, distant thereon 80 feet Westerly from the point of
intersection of the Northerly line of First Street with the Westerly
line of Shaver Street; running thence Northerly 220 20' East parallel
with the Easterly line of Hayes Street, 120 feet, more or less, to the
Southerly line of the right of way of what was formerly the North
Pacific Coast Railroad, thence Westerly and along the said Southerly
line of said right of way 160 feet, more or less, to the Easterly
line of Hayes Street; thence Southerly along said Easterly line of Haym.
Street, 13 feet, more or less, to the Northwesterly corner of the pro-
perty cohveyed to Andrew Borello, Frank -M:.Botello and John Borello,
by that certain deed dated February 14, 1902, snd made and executed by
H<rriet B. Shaver, et al, to the said Andrew Borello, Frank M. Borello
znd John Borello, and which deed wbs filed for record and. recorded in
the office of the County Recorder of Marin. County, California., on
February 18, 1902, in Volume 72 of Deeds, at page 135, MErin County
Records; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said lot of land
described in the aforementioned deed which was recorded in Volume 72 of
Deeds, at page 185, Barin County Records, 40 feet; thence Southerly
along the Easterly line of said lot of land described in the afore-
mentioned deed which was recorded in Volume 72 of Deeds, at page 135,
iAsrin County Records, 120 feet to the Northerly line of First Street;
thence Easterly along said Northerly line of First Street, 116.9:feet
to the point of beginning.
7,.WHEREAS, it appears to said Council and said City Council hereby
finds that ;oublic interest, convenience and necessity require the opening
up and extending of Second Street in said City from its present terminus
at E Street so as to connect with West End Avenue in order to accommodate
vehicular traffic from Second Street as the same now exists westerly to
Greenfield Avenue audits suburban communities thereby relieving traffic
