RESOLUTION NO. 15377
RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AFFIRMING THE CITY’S
VALUES OF EQUITY, INCLUSION, BELONGING, DIVERSITY AND DEMOCRACY
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael’s community values are built on resilience,
collaboration, and a steadfast belief in justice and equity, and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes its strength and beauty comes from the diverse
backgrounds, perspectives, and contributions of our residents; and
WHEREAS, every community member deserves a safe and welcoming
environment where they can live authentically and know that their City government is
committed to their well-being and belonging; and
WHEREAS, many communities are experiencing heightened fear and
uncertainty in the face of ongoing social and political challenges, and the City affirms its
commitment to their safety, inclusion, and full participation in civic life; and
WHEREAS, recent events have underscored the importance of transparency in
government, upholding the rule of law, and meaningful community collaboration in order
to sustain public trust and ensure all voices are heard; and
WHEREAS, the City remains resolute in addressing critical challenges, including
racial equity, housing affordability, homelessness, climate resilience, public safety, and
equitable economic opportunity; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this resolution shall serve as a testament
to San Rafael’s values of equity, inclusion, belonging, diversity and democracy, and that
the City pledges to uphold the rights, dignity, and freedom of all community members
while working towards a more just and prosperous future for all; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council shall continue pursuing policies,
initiatives, and collaborative efforts that reflect these principles, ensuring that San
Rafael remains a welcoming home for every resident.
I, LINDSAY LARA, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the 17th day of March 2025, by
the following vote, to wit:
