HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 15379 (Collaboration Agreement with Marin County Transit District)RESOLUTION NO. 15379 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH MARIN COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT (MARIN TRANSIT) REGARDING COMMUNITY BENEFITS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ELECTRIC BUS CHARGING FACILITY LOCATED AT 1075 FRANCISCO BLVD EAST WHEREAS, in 2023, the Marin County Transit District (“Marin Transit”), received a $31.5 million grant from the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) to purchase and develop land for an electric bus charging and maintenance facility; and WHEREAS, $2.2 million was allocated for workforce development and childcare-related programs and initiatives; and WHEREAS, In November 2024, Marin Transit purchased a 3.5-acre property at 1075 Francisco Blvd. East.; and WHEREAS, On March 3, 2025, the Marin Transit Board expressed its support for collaboration between the City of San Rafael and Marin Transit staff on community engagement and outreach for this project; and WHEREAS, The City is committed to an inclusive, robust engagement is key to ensuring the project design and associated community benefits reflect resident input, and the City is committed to working with Marin Transit to support their community engagement efforts. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter a collaboration agreement with Marin County Transit District (“Marin Transit”) regarding community benefits for the development of an electric bus charging facility located at 1075 Francisco Blvd East. I, LINDSAY LARA, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Monday, the 17th day of March 2025, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmembers: Bushey, Hill, Kertz, Llorens Gulati & Mayor Kate NOES: Councilmembers: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: None Lindsay Lara, City Clerk
