AN ORDINANCE OF THE C I TY OF SAN RAFAEL AMENDING CHAPTER
12.20 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF SAID CITY BY ADOPTING, BY
REFERENCE, THE 1959 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM ELECTRICAL
CODE, WITH CERTAIN SPECIFIC ADDITIONS AND CHANGES THERETO.
The Council of the City of San Rafael do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 12.20.010 of the Municipal Code of the City
of San Rafael is amended to read as follows:
1112.20.010. Adoption of uniform electrical code and
national electrical code. All that certain "Uniform
Electrical Code" published by the Pacific Coast
Electrical Bureau, 1959 Edition, including the secondary
code referred to therein, to wit; the 1959 National
Electrical Code, three certified copies of which, in
printed form, have been filed and are now on file in the
office of the City Jerk of .I . .4ty marked "flied"
therein on the 12 ' day of 961, for use and
examination by the public, is hereby adopted as the
Electrical Code of and for the City of San Rafael, Calif-
ornia, to which, reference is hereby wade with like effect
as if all of the provisions and printed matter therein were
herein set forth in full."
SECTION 11: Section 12.20.030 of the Municipal Code of the City
of San Rafael is amended by substituting "1959" for "1956" wherever said 111956"
appears therein.
SECTION I11: Section 12.20,050 of the Municipal Code of the City
of San Rafael is amended by adding thereto, the following:
"Electrical permit fees for residential and multiple
dwelling units shall be on a square foot basis of all
floor area of each building as follows:

SECTION IV: Section 12.20.070 of the Municipal Code of the City
of San Rafael is amended by adding thereto the following:
"All wiring feeders and conductors when installed in
ground slabs or earth, shall be installed in rigid
metal conduit or other raceways approved by the
Administrative Authority.
"FIRE ZONE 3 All exposed wiring feeders and con-
ductors in open frame walls shall be installed in
electrical metallic tubing or other raceways
approved by the Administrative Authority."
SECTION V: This ordinance shall be published once in full
before its final passage in the INDEPENDENT -JOURNAL, a daily newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said City, and shall
be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after its final passage.
