HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 15472 (Angle Street Parking on a Portion of Fifth Avenue Near Sun Valley Elementary School)RESOLUTION NO. 15472 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING ANGLED PARKING ALONG A PORTION OF FIFTH AVENUE BETWEEN RIVER OAKS ROAD AND HAPPY LANE: EXEMPT PURSUANT TO CEQA GUIDELINE SECTIONS 15060(c)(3) WHEREAS, San Rafael City Schools has requested that the City establish six angled parking along a portion of Fifth Avenue between River Oaks Road and Happy Lane as part of the School District’s “Safe Route to School” improvements to formalize the existing parking configuration (“Project”) and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of San Rafael to establish angle parking on certain streets within the City and; WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael traffic and engineering staff has reviewed and is recommending the establishment of angle parking at the location described below; and WHEREAS, the Project is exempt from environmental review pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines 15061(b)(3) NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES that the above findings are true and correct and pursuant to section 5.40.060 of the San Rafael Municipal Code, six angled parking spots shall be established at the following location: Fifth Avenue, along the northerly curb face, between River Oaks Road and Happy Lane, beginning 28 linear feet east of the intersection and continuing 63 linear feet. I, LINDSAY LARA, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City on Monday, the 3rd day of November 2025, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmembers: Bushey, Hill, Kertz, Llorens Gulati & Mayor Kate NOES: Councilmembers: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: None Lindsay Lara, City Clerk
