CONTRACTORS INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $317,998.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt resolution.
BACKGROUND:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding the contract to Graham
Contractors Inc. for $317,998.00.
ANALYSIS:
The Slurry Seal 2008/2009 project targets forty-nine streets located throughout
the City. The list of streets to be slurry sealed this year is attached to this report and totals
approximately 8.5 miles. Bids for Slurry Seal 2008/2009 were opened on August 12, 2008.
Slurry sealing is part of an ongoing maintenance program that prevents streets from further
deterioration.
The lowest bidder, Graham Contractors Inc. at $317,998.00, was approximately 5% less than
the Engineer's Estimate ($335,000.00) for the project. This may be due to the competitive bid
climate at this time of year.

the City, the sum of $500 for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work
in excess of the number of working days prescribed above; and the Contractor agrees to
pay said liquidated damages herein provided for, and further agrees that the City may
