SUBJECT: Resolution authorizing a temporary street closure for the Goodwill – Ritter Center
Donation Drive Partnership on Ritter Street from Lincoln Avenue to Third Street on Saturday,
September 22, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve resolution.
BACKGROUND: This is the fifth year of a major donor drive sponsored by Goodwill and the
Ritter Center. It is a one day, county wide event where donated items are collected in mutual
support of Ritter Center and the local San Rafael Goodwill facility.
ANALYSIS: Ritter Street will be closed between Lincoln and Third Streets and the street will be

donated items will be collected and then donors will be directed to exit onto Third Street. This is
the same staging as used in previous years, and no noticeable negative traffic impacts have
been reported during those events. All directional signage and staffing will be supplied by the
two non -profits as directed by City staff.
FISCAL IMPACT: None.
