HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 13044 (Job Classification Amendments)RESOLUTION NO. 13044 RESOLUTION TO AMEND JOB CLASSIFICATIONS REPRESENTED BY SEIU TO ADDRESS DEPARTMENTAL NEEDS IN THE SAN RAFAEL FIRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, due to the economic recession, the City has gone through significant budget cuts over the last couple of years that have affected all departments in one way or another; and WHEREAS, departments continue to re -prioritize and reorganize in order to provide effective services as efficiently as possible with limited resources; and WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael ("CITY") and representatives of SEIU Local 1021 ("UNION") have met and discussed the administrative and operation needs of the San Rafael Fire Department and Community Development department; and WHEREAS, the CITY and the UNION agree to the following changes in the classifications represented by the UNION: 1. Create a new classification of Household Hazardous Waste Program Coordinator to work in the Fire Department 2. Reclassify an Accounting Assistant II position in the Fire Department to an Accountant I 3. Modify the job specifications for the Code Enforcement Official III to require certification in building and/or fire inspection NOW, THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby approves amending job classifications represented by SEIU to address departmental and organizational needs. I, Esther C. Beirne, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on Tuesday, the 7th of September, 2010, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmembers: Brockbank, Heller, Levine & Mayor Boro NOES: Councilmembers: None ABSENT: Councilmembers: Connolly -SsttE�-g �,-- )E'e- Esther C.
