AGENCY CONSIDERATION
3. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXPEND FUNDS AND
APPROVE DEMONSTRATION OUTDOOR SEATING AREA (CHINOOK RESTAURANT) (RA) - File
R-335
Assistant Executive Director Ours stated one of the areas the Downtown Plan
Committee decided on was the idea of attempting to get more activity on the
streets, more evening activity and one of the recommendations was for more
outdoor assembly and eating areas. He stated prior to doing a full project
and/or design, they considered a pilot project to determine how this would work

in downtown and what type of technical problems there would be. He stated the
Agency had the offer of a building that was being remodeled next to Anderson's
Foods, where the Chinook Restaurant is located. He stated the tenant there
specifically modified her building to be able to accept this and they thought
it would be an excellent opportunity to spend a small amount of money to find
out what type of technical problems would be involved in this type of project.
Also, this is one of the quick implementation items that the Downtown Plan
Committee recommended. He stated there was a drawing in the Agency Members'
packets which showed how they were to expand the sidewalk out which would
result in a loss of one parking space, noting it will be a one year project to
determine how this will work and can be discontinued very easily if it is not
accepted.
Member Breiner moved and Member Thayer seconded, to adopt the Resolution
authorizing the Assistant Executive Director to expend funds not to exceed
$5,000 and approve the construction of a prototype outdoor seating area at 1130
Fourth Street (Chinook Restaurant).
RESOLUTION NO. 93-19 - AUTHORIZING THE ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXPEND
FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED $5,000 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
DEMONSTRATION OUTDOOR SEATING AREA LOCATED AT 1130
