A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE POLICE VEHICLE FOR $24,463.68 FROM
FOLSOM LAKE FORD SALES, AS PART OF CALIFORNIA MULTIPLE AWARD
SCHEDULE CONTRACTS PROGRAM WHICH IS EXEMPT FROM BID PROCESS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, one marked Police Department vehicle, unit #230, was involved in
an accident on August 19, 2006, resulting in it being cost prohibitive to replace it; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department will use existing budgeted general funds in
combination with the existing City's Vehicle Replacement Fund for the damaged unit to
purchase a replacement vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the City, as a participant in the California Multiple Award Schedule
Contracts program, also known as State Bids, is exempt from competitive bidding
requirements for this vehicle under San Rafael Municipal Code Section 2.55.260; and
WHEREAS, Folsom Lake Ford is currently the approved Ford dealer for the
California Multiple Award Schedule Contracts program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bid from Folsom Lake Ford
Sales for one marked Ford vehicle at the specified unit price of $24,463.68 is hereby
accepted and that a purchase order for said vehicle in that amount is hereby approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is
hereby authorized to take any and all such actions and make changes as may be
necessary to accomplish the purpose of this Resolution.

I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Council of said City on the 5th day of September, 2006, by the following vote, to
wit:
