RESOLUTION NO. 11318
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DF 11PPREEIRTION
TO
CECIL NIELSEN
Cecil Nielsen served on the North San Rafael Vision In Action (VIA)
Committee, devoted to implementing Vision North San Rafael; and
the VIA Committee contributed greatly to many community defining
projects in North San Rafael including preparation of the Promenade
Plan, definition of the Town Center concept at design charrettes and
through work with Macerich (owner of Northgate Mall), installation of
median entryway landscaping on Maria B. Freitas Parkway,
reconstruction of the Terra Linda Pool and Freitas Park, fundraising for
landscaping Del Ganado Creek, and the translation of the Vision into
General Plan 2020; and
the VIA Committee promoted community education and involvement in
creating a sense of place in North San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby commends Cecil Nielsen and other members of the VIA Committee for their
tireless and selfless efforts on behalf of their community and the City of San Rafael.
