Home My WebLink AboutCC Resolution 11003 (Purchase Police Vehicles)RESOLUTION NO. 11003 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE REPLACEMENT AND PURCHASE OF MISCELLANEOUS POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $191,157.6 4 WHEREAS, The City of San Rafael, through its Fleet Advisory Board, has developed timelines for the replacement of City vehicles and certain Police Department vehicles are due for replacement in accordance with the FAB's schedule; and WHEREAS, Pursuant to San Rafael Municipal Code section 2.55.260, purchases of supplies, materials, equipment or services made under a cooperative purchasing program maintained by the State, are exempt from the bidding requirements of San Rafael Municipal Code Chapter 2.55; and WHEREAS, For the scheduled replacement of certain Police Department vehicles, the City is utilizing the State cooperative purchase program to purchase miscellaneous police sedans in accordance with the vehicle specifications on file in the State of California's Department of General Procurement Division; and WHEREAS, the Police Department has reviewed said vehicle specifications and bids and has determined that the vehicles meet the needs of the Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael that all of the above -stated facts are true and correct and that the San Rafael Police Department is hereby authorized to purchase the police vehicles identified in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, in an amount not to exceed $191,157.64, and that the Chief of Police is authorized to execute all necessary documents to accomplish this purpose. 1 I, JEANNE M.
