CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
VIETNAMESE -AMERICAN FRIENDSI iIP GROUP
IN SAN RAFAEL
WHEREAS,
The Vietnamese -American Friendship Group in San Rafael has
been an inspiring and integral part of the Canal Community for
several years; and
WHEREAS,
The group has donated many hours of volunteer time to the
City with various community projects such as the Neighborhood
Cleanup Days, Canal beautification, and the annual Daffodil
Planting Days; and
WHEREAS,
The group has organized English as a Second Language classes,
Vietnamese language classes, cultural programs for youth and
citizenship classes for seniors; and
WHEREAS,
The group has lead numerous Vietnamese New Year and
autumn Moon Festival celebrations free to the community, and
has hosted remembrance days such as one hosted for the victims
of the September 11 tragedy;
NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of
the City of San Rafael hereby express their sincere appreciation to The
Vietnamese -American Friendship Group in San Rafael for their dedication and
service on behalf of the City of San Rafael.
