I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael,
and Ex -officio Clerk of the Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the forgoing Charter Ordinance No. 1554 entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, AMENDING
SECTION 5.04.020 OF THE SAN RAFAEL MUNICIPAL CODE
TO ADD MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.'S BIRTHDAY TO THE
LIST OF PARKING METER HOLIDAYS"
is a true and correct copy of an Ordinance of said City and was
introduced at a Regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of San Rafael, held on the 21st day of November ,
1988, published as required by City Charter in the MARIN
INDEPENDENT JOURNAL , a newspaper published in the City of San
Rafael and passed and adopted as an Ordinance of said City at a
Regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the
5th day of December , 1988, by the following vote, to wit:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING SECTION 5.04.020 OF THE SAN RAFAEL MUNICIPAL CODE
TO ADD MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.'S BIRTHDAY
TO THE LIST OF PARKING METER HOLIDAYS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
DIVISION 1. Section 5.04.020 of the San Rafael Municipal
Code adopted by ordinances Number 670, 1005 and 1355 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section 5.04.020 HOLIDAYS:
Within the meaning of this title, Holidays are:
January 1
Third Monday in
January
Third Monday in
February
Last Monday in May
July 4
First Monday in
September
November 11
Fourth Thursday
in November
Fourth Friday in November
December 25
Whenever any of the holidays as set forth above fall on a Sunday, the
Monday following said Sunday shall be observed as a holiday. Whenever
any of the holidays fall on a Saturday, the Friday before said Saturday
shall be observed as a holiday.
DIVISION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in full
before its final passage in a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published, and circulated in the City of San Rafael, and shall be in full
force and effect thirty (30) days after its final passage.

The above and foregoing Charter Ordinance No. 1554 was read
and introduced at a REGULAR meeting of the City Council of the City of
San Rafael held on the 21st day of NOVEMBER , 1988, and ordered
passed to print by the following vote, to wit:

and will come up for adoption as an Ordinance of the City of San Rafael
