1. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL: (CC)
a. THREE J3� POSITIONS ON THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES DUE TO EXPIRATION OF 4-
YEAR TRS - File 9-2-3
Council interviewed the following applicants to serve on the Board of Library
Trustees:
Helen Dufficy George Walton
Elizabeth H. Grasham Phillip Ramirez
John R. Haeuser Michel Rousselin
One additional applicant, Ronald Stone, was unable to be interviewed as he was
out-of-state.
After discussion, Councilmember Breiner moved and Councilmember Shippey seconded,
to reappoint Elizabeth H. Grasham, John R. Haeuser and George Walton to fill
three (3) four-year terms on the Board of Library Trustees, with terms to expire
the end of April, 1995.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Boro, Breiner, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Councilmember Breiner moved and Councilmember Shippey seconded, to appoint Michel
Rousselin to serve as an Alternate on the Board of Library Trustees.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Boro, Breiner, Shippey, Thayer & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
b. TWO (2� POSITIONS ON THE CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION DUE TO EXPIRATION OF 4-
YEAR T RMS - File 9-2-24
Council interviewed the following applicants:
Phillip Ramirez
Erika Zak Bencich
Gratis E. Landley
Beatriz Manzo
Glenn David Mathews
Three (3) additional applicants, incumbent James Boughey, Chairman, Dr. A. Desta,
and Ronald Stone were unable to attend the interviews due to prior commitments.
After discussion, Council agreed to postpone any decision on appointments until
James Boughey could be interviewed in light of correspondence he had sent to the
City Council. Also, City Clerk to again contact Dr. Desta; Ronald Stone had
previously been interviewed for another appointment. Interviews to be set up
at a Special Council Meeting on May 20, 1991.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
