HomeMy WebLinkAboutLib Employment Agreement; Literacy Program Lead Trainer 1996 (2)AGREEMENT Contract EmDlovee This Agreement made and entered into this 1st day of Anril. 1996 by and between the City of San Rafael, hereinafter referred to as "City", and Julie Jones hereinafter referred to as "Contract Employee". 1. The City hereby employs Contract Employee to provide services enumerated in exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference. The term of this agreement shall be 411196 through 9130196 2. In consideration of performing duties enumerated in exhibit "A", Contract Employee will work from 411196 through 9130196 and will receive $17.24 per hour and will work 5 hours per week. Additional hours, as needed, may be approved by the Library Director. 3. Contract Employee will report to and receive direction from the Library Director or his designated representative in performance of duties enumerated in exhibit "A". It is expressly understood that the contractor work assignments and services performed under this agreement are all under the direction of staff. 4. It is understood that Julie Jones is a Contract Employee, not a City employee, and as such will not be entitled to vacation, sick leave, or other fringe benefits granted to regular full-time employees of the City. 5. Either party may terminate this agreement at any time upon two weeks written notice to all parties. 6. Leo cini Date City Clerk CONTRACT EMPLOYEE: APPRO TO FORM: - -- - - -- s -- - -- ----- City tp ney at Exhibit A San Rafael Public Library Training Coordinator for San Quentin Project Funded by 1995-1996 State Literacy Resource Center Grant (SLRC) Job Description Definition - Under the direction of the Library Administration and working with the San Quentin Project Coordinator, the Training Coordinator is responsible for designing and implementing training for the San Quentin Training Project of the Marin Literacy Program that is reflective of the San Quentin tutor and student populations and performing such related duties as required. Level Summary - This single position class, contracted employee performs duties within established guidelines and is responsible for the development and delivery of all trainings and inservices for the San Quentin In-house Project of the Marin Literacy Program. Function - The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing and delivering the trainings and inservices for the the San Quentin Project; arranges for and sets up the training site; assembles appropriate handouts for trainee portfolios; tracks all available trainers for trainings & inservices; tracks all trainees; follows up with any trainees that may need special consultation; keeps accurate records_ and submits statements for fees and expenses; and submits a quarterl_ finance and t aining progress report to the Program Coordinator. T Emplovment Standards - Education/Experience - A combination of education/experience equivalent of four years of college, plus two years of educational resource specialist experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge of adult literacy methodology and techniques. License - Possession of a valid California class 3 driver's license and a satisfactory driving history as obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
