LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, and Ex -officio Clerk of the Council of said City, do hereby certify that the foregoing Charter Ordinance No. 1522 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN COMPENSATION FOR CITY COUNCIL" is a true and correct copy of an ordinance of said City and was introduced at a Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on the _ i-xtP,-nth day of December 1985, published as required by City Charter in the Marin Independent Journal , a newspaper published in the City of San Rafael and passed and adopted as an ordinance of said City at a Regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the Sixth day of Janaury 19 86 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli, Nave, Russom & Mayor Mulryan NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None WITNESS my hand and the official seal of the City of San Rafael this Eiahth day of January , 1986. LEONC�Cityrk ORDINANCE NO. 1522 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN COMPENSATION FOR CITY COUNCIL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: DIVISION 1. Section 36516 of the California Government Code (amended in 1984, effective in 1985) provides that the compensation of Councilmembers in a City the size of San Rafael may be set at $400 per month. Section 36516.1 of the California Government Code provides that an elected Mayor may receive additional compensation above that provided to Councilmembers. The previous salary adjustment for the Council and Mayor was effective in November of 1983. DIVISION 2. As of January 1, 1986, the Mayor shall receive $600 per month and each Councilmember shall receive $400 per month. This compensation shall be paid in the same manner as paid to other officers and employees of the City of San Rafael. DIVISION 3. This Ordinance shall be published once in full before its final passage in a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of San Rafael, and shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its final passage.
