ORDINANCE NO. 1223
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AMENDING SECTION 2.04.020 - SPECIAL MEETINGS - OF THE SAN RAFAEL MUNICIPTL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
DIVISION 1. Section 2.04.020 of the San Rafael Municipal
Code is hereby amended and shall read as follows:
2.04.020 Special Meetings. Special meetings of the Council
of the City may be called at any time by the Mayor or by three
Council Members by written notice delivered to the Mayor and each
Member of the Council personally, and to any agency of the news
media that has requested to be notified, at least twenty-four hours
before the time specified for the proposed meeting. Depositing the
written notice in the post office at the City, enclosed in a sealed
envelope with postage prepaid and addressed to the residence or place
of business in the City of the Mayor or any Council Member, and to
requesting agencies of the news media, at least twenty-four hours
before the time specified for the proposed special meeting, shall
be deemed equivalent to personal delivery of the notice. The notice
shall specify the time and place of the special meeting and the
business to be transacted, and no other business shall be considered
at the special meeting.
DIVISION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once in full
before its final passage in the Independent Journal , a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the City
of San Rafael, and shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days
after its final passage.

The above and foregoing Ordinance No. 1223 was read and
intorduced at a reqular meeting of the City Council of the City of
San Rafael, held on the 7th day of June 1976, and ordered
passed to print by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Jensen, Mulryan, Nixon and Mayor Bettini
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Mi s ki men
and will come up for adoption as an Ordinance of the City of San Rafael
at a reqular meeting of the Council to be held on the 21st day of
