ORDINANCE NO. 1231
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AMENDING
SECTIONS 1.12.010, PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS, AND
5.12.020, REQUIRED OBEDIENCE TO THIS TITLE,
OF THE SAN RAFAEL MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
DIVISION 1. Section 1.12.010, Penalty for Violations,
of the San Rafael Municipal Code is hereby amended and shall read
as follows:
1.12.010 Penalty for Violations. It is unlawful for any
person to violate any provision or fail to comply with any require-
ments of this Code. Any person violating any of the provisions or
failing to comply with any of the mandatory provisions of this Code
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, except as otherwise provided in
this Code. Any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the provisions
of this Code shall be punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred
Dollars or by imprisonment in the Marin County Jail for not exceeding
six months or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person
shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during
any portion of which any violation of any provisions of this Code is
committed, continued or permitted by such person and shall be punish-
able accordingly. In addition to the penalties hereinabove provided,
any condition caused or permitted to exist in violation of any of the
provisions of this Code shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be
by this City summarily abated as such, and each day such condition
continues shall be regarded as a new and separate offense.
DIVISION 2. Section 5.12.020, Required Obedience to this
Title, is hereby amended and shall read as follows:
5.12.020 Required Obedience to this Title. It is an in-
fraction for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform
any act required by Section 5.12.050 and 5.56.010, and by Chapters
5.16, 5.20, 5.28, 5.32, 5.36, 5.40, 5.44, 5.48, and 5.60. It is a
misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform
any act required by any other provisions of this Title.

regular meeting of the City Council of the City of San Rafael, held on
the 6th day of July , 1976, and ordered passed to print by the
following vote, to -wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Nixon
and will come up for adoption as an Ordinance of the City of San Rafael at a
regular meeting of the Council to be held on the 19th day of July ,
1976.
