In the Conference Room 201 of the City of San Rafael, Monday, May 6, 1985,
at 6:15 PM.
Special Meeting: Present: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Mayor
Dorothy L. Breiner, Councilmember
Gary R. Frugoli, Councilmember
Richard Nave, Councilmember
Jerry Russom, Councilmember
Absent: None
Also Present: Pamela J. Nicolai, Acting City Manager; Jeanne M. Leoncini,
City Clerk
1. BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES - TWO VACANCIES - 4 -YEAR TERMS - File 9-2-3
Council interviewed four applicants to fill two vacancies on the Board
of Library Trustees as follows:
Mrs. Ivy Wellington Mr. Lyman McBride
Mr. Jim Gilliland Mr. Jack A. Farley
Mr. McBride stated the Council may not wish to consider him for
reappointment as he would be moving away from San Rafael by August 1985
and also indicated it might be easier for the Council to appoint
someone else so they would not have to call for applications again so
soon.
Mayor Mulryan, on behalf of the City Council, thanked Mr. McBride for
his many faithful hours of dedicated volunteer service to the Library
and the citizens of San Rafael.
After discussion, the Council unanimously approved appointment of
Mrs. Ivy Wellington and Mr. Jim Gilliland to serve four-year terms on
the Board of Library Trustees, with terms to expire the end of April,
1989.
2. CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMISSION - THREE VACANCIES - 4 -YEAR TERMS -
File 9-2-24
Council interviewed five applicants to fill three vacancies on the
Cultural Affairs Commission as follows:
Mr. Jack A. Farley
Ms. Barbara Gelleri
Ms. Georgia Page
Mrs. Ann Batman
Ms. Nanette Londeree
Two other applicants, Osa Hall "Niki" Simons and William Crabtree were
unable to attend the interviews.
After discussion, the Council unanimously approved reappointment of
Ms. Ann Batman and appointment of Ms. Georgia Page and Ms. Nanette
Londeree to serve four-year terms on the Cultural Affairs Commission,
with terms to expire the end of April, 1989.
There being no further business, the Special Meeting was adjourned.
