In the Council Chambers of the City of San Rafael, Monday, September 16,
1985 at 7:30 PM.

Meeting Present: Jerry Russom, Vice-Chairman/Councilmember
Dorothy L. Breiner, Member/Councilmember
Gary R. Frugoli, Member/Councilmember
Richard Nave, Member/Councilmember
Absent: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Chairman/Mayor
Also Present: Ted A. Gaebler, Executive Director/City Manager; Jeanne M.
Leoncini, Agency Secretary/City Clerk; Gary T. Ragghianti,
Agency/City Attorney
APPROVAL OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT - TRANSPORTATION CENTER (RA) -
File R-81 x (SRCC) 140 x 112-2
Assistant Executive Director Ours stated that the Agency was asking for
approval of the Environmental Assessment for the Tansportation Center,
requesting that two areas be changed; 1) The number of parking spaces
allowed in the viaduct parking, and 2) The bus operation on Third Street.
1) The assessment presently has a figure of 21 parking spaces to be
provided for the second floor, but it was agreed not to have the second
floor built. It has been agreed to have six parking spaces available at
the viaduct Transportation Center for operational people only.
2) That the number of buses crossing from the Transporation Center across
Third Street be cut down in half by having the buses rerouted.
Mr. Peter Dyson of the planning staff of the Golden Gate Bridge District
stated that if the second floor is taken out of the assessment tonight, it
would be final.
Member/Councilmember Breiner indicated that it be made clear that the City
did not want a second floor at the Tansportation Center.
Member/Councilmember Nave moved and Member/Councilmember Breiner seconded,
to approve the Environmental Assessment for the San Rafael Transportation
Center, eliminating the second floor space, and that work is to be done on
cutting down the bus movement operation on Third Street.
