Special Meeting: Present: Lawrence E. Mulryan, Mayor
San Rafael City Council Dorothy L. Breiner, Councilmember
Gary R. Frugoli, Councilmember
Richard Nave, Councilmember
Maynard H. Willms, Councilmember
Absent: None
Also Present: Pamela J. Nicolai, City Manager; Jeanne M. Leoncini, City Clerk
1. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS: (CC)
a. PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION (1 Vacancy) - File 9-2-4
The Council interviewed the following applicants to fill a vacancy
on the Park and Recreation Commission caused by the resignation of
Commissioner Martha Kearns:
Anthony Arnold
Elliot Bien
After discussion, Councilmember Breiner moved and Councilmember Frugoli
seconded, to appoint Anthony Arnold to fill the unexpired term to
the end of May, 1990.
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli, Nave, Willms & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
b. PLANNING COMMISSION (2 Vacancies) - File 9-2-6
The Council interviewed the following incumbents for reappointment
to 4 -year terms on the Planning Commission to the end of June, 1991:
Bob Livingston
Suzanne M. Scott
Applicant Jack A. Farley did not appear to be interviewed and applicant
Jeffeory J. Toreson informed staff he would be unable to attend the
meeting due to a business commitment, but hoped the Council would
consider interviewing him at a later date.
Council also considered letters from the following eight people, who
had previously been interviewed, expressing continued interest in
serving on the Planning Commission:
Elliot Bien
Gregory R. Brockbank
Peter Frobenius
Robert B. Ingram
Jean Price Lewis
John A. Starkweather
William A. Thiercof
Judith L. Tipple
After discussion, Councilmember Breiner moved and Councilmember Frugoli
seconded, to reappoint Suzanne M. Scott to a 4 -year term on the Planning
Commission to expire the end of June, 1991:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Frugoli, Nave, Willms & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Councilmember Breiner then moved and Councilmember Willms seconded,
to reappoint Bob Livingston to a 4 -year term on the Planning Commission
to expire the end of June, 1991:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Breiner, Willms & Mayor Mulryan
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Frugoli and Nave
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
